I love it! An unusual but functional wireless charger with QC Quick Charge 2.0 capability.
Note: The supplier sent a sample for evaluation. The opinion of the product is my own personal view.
There are wireless chips and wireless charger products on the same page here, so I should make it plain that I am reviewing the small robot-shaped Fast Wireless Charger.
I am a great fan of wireless charging anyway, but I particularly like this charger. I have seen pad chargers and stand chargers before, but I have never seen an 'adhesive' one (I'm not sure what the correct description actually is).
The unit is quite small (around 9cm high, with a base diameter of 7.4cm), and takes up little or no room on any surface. It also has a good large circular non-slip bad on the base, and a small indicator LED on the front to tell you that it is connected.
The angled charging pad on the top is unusual to me. It is not magnetic (at least I don't think that it is - as this would interfere with wireless charging). Instead it's a kind of adhesive silicon. Whatever it is, and despite the angle of it, my phone (and with TPU case attached) immediately sticks onto it with no problem and holds there well (remove the plastic packaging protection from the pad first of course).
Having not used it for very long, I am not sure how long the adhesive quality will last, but I would suggest that it is wise not to let dust build up on the surface in order to maintain the original excellent 'stick'.
With a suitable USB to micro USB lead connected to the back, the charger will charge any QI enabled device wirelessly.
But it's real added benefit comes from the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 capability which charges suitable devices around 1.5 times faster.
My Galaxy S7 is built with Quick Charge 2.0 capability, and so are some others listed on the product page. If yours is not, but you can remove the battery from the casing, then the chances are that you can buy a wireless receiving, wafer thin, chip which attaches to the battery inside the case (some are available on this product page).
But, to take advantage of the QC Quick Charge 2.0 capability, not only must your device be capable of receiving it, both your USB port output and the micro USB lead must be capable of transmitting it. I have a suitable wall charger (or use the original one provided by the phone manufacturer) and I have the original S7charge lead, so there is no problem for me. In case you do not have the original lead, the suppliers have thoughtfully included a suitable and generous length one in the package.
This is a great fast charger, and I also like the fact that, when on charge but woken from sleep, the lock screen not only shows the current level of charge, but also the estimated time left to full charge.
All-in-all I love it!
I hope that you find my review informative and helpful to you in some way.
